Tongoy is a charming coastal town in northern Chile, located approximately 50 km (31 miles) south of La Serena and about 430 km (267 miles) north of Santiago. The town boasts two main beaches:

Playa Socos: This 4 km (2.5 miles) long beach is the most visited, characterized by its calm waters and small waves, making it ideal for family outings.

Playa Grande: Extending over 14 km (8.7 miles), this expansive beach is renowned for recreational fishing.

Tongoy enjoys a mild coastal climate, with warm summers and gentle winters, making it an ideal year-round destination.
